Steps To Migrate

If you're currently using our existing APIs, then this information is for you. If you're new to OpenMarket, see the Overview to find out how to connect to us.

Once you've decided to migrate, we recommend you do the following:

  • Read this release note — it explains the key differences between the two HTTP APIs.

  • Contact your OpenMarket Account Manager. She or he will provide you with an SMS Account ID and work with you to configure your service.

    Both your OpenMarket Account Manager and Customer Success Manager are available to help during your transition. When migrating to this API, let us know when you wish to start receiving MOs through this API.

  • Decide whether to use either JSON or XML in your requests — we recommend JSON as it is simpler, and other OpenMarket APIs use this format.

  • Use our Customer Integration Environment (CIE). The CIE provides a place to safely test Global SMS API requests.

  • When ready, tell OpenMarket Support when you want to start receiving MO messages from the v4 API.
