Unsubscribing End Users Through a Service

These steps explain how to remove an end user from a subscription using the Unsubscribe handler.

Note: Depending on your region and the type of campaign you are running, you will need to comply with a variety of different stop keywords. For example, US campaigns must enable end users to unsubscribe from a specific campaign with STOP and from all campaigns with STOPALL.

To unsubscribe an end user from a subscription through a service:

  1. Click the Services tab, then select the service that you want to unsubscribe end users through.

The selected service opens in the Service Editor page.

Note: If you set up a service using the previous beta editor, and you still want to use that editor, click the Legacy Editor button at the bottom of the page

  2. Select the handler.

The handler properties navigation pane appears on the right.

  3. In the handler's properties, set the subscription you want to remove the end user from. For example:
    • For a STOP service, use A Single Subscription. Choose the subscription collection and subscription name from the drop down list.
    • Use All Subscriptions or All Subscriptions in a Collection for a STOPALL service.
  4. Click Save.

After this handler, we suggest adding a SMS message that tells an end user that they have been successfully unsubscribed.
